It’s so easy to feel on track when things are going well. It’s easy to feel aligned when you’re making money, clients are inquiring about your products, perhaps you’ve even met a new love interest or friend.
But how do you remain in the face of adversity? When no one is asking about your product? When you don’t know how you’re going to pay the bills? When you have a fight with your partner?
“Did I do something wrong?”
“Oh shit… Is this bad karma?”
“Maybe it was just luck…”
Being triggered is part of being a human being, it's not fun but it's not bad either. If you’re never triggered, then you either had a PERFECT upbringing oooooor you’re just checking out emotionally (been there, done that).
Sometimes the gods grace us, and lessons find us in the form of a quote in a book, or advice from a friend. Sometimes we feel a bit less lucky and we learn the lessons the hard way. But here’s the thing — as long as you learn the lesson, you win.
It doesn’t matter how you get there. If you successfully learn a lesson, you have won, and it gets to bother you either never again, or less frequently.
If you find yourself constantly triggered, what lesson are you ignoring? What belief do you have that doesn’t match the future you’d like to create? Over time I have learnt to let my triggers, especially the recurring ones, be my guides and point me to the change I can make that will create the most in my life. I have noticed that triggers pop up when we are refusing to change a belief — especially around money and our relationships.
I've created a foolproof process to beat these moment. It consists of a mental release, a physical release, a mental embodiment and a physical embodiment.
Here’s the 4 step formula I use when I get triggered.
1 -- write in a journal/paper what triggered you and how it made you feel.
Feel free to include all the other stories & experiences you have around this that come up, things may come up from your childhood or whatever. Trust it.
Let it all out, even if it makes you feel bad for saying it and even if you know it’s not true. Be as dramatic as you need -- the subconscious mind is not irrational.
2 -- a short physical routine to get it out of your body.
Take a couple of minutes to release the energy physically. This is probably the most important step.
If I’m angry, I will shake (therapeutic tremouring) or punch/scream into a pillow. You can dance. You can go for a run. If you are calm, you may like breathwork. The key here is to move energy out of your body
3 -- go back to your paper and write all the things you can be grateful for, or learn, about the situation.
Even if it’s not your predominant truth yet, it pays to be aware of the potential and helps you see it from a different perspective.
4 — do a short grounding exercise to integrate these awarenesses and beliefs.
You may like to meditate, do EFT (tapping), breathwork, say affirmations or even just talk to yourself and touch your body for a moment. It doesn’t have to be big and extravagant. It just has to connect you with yourself and this new state you wish to be in.
This is how we begin to regulate our nervous system and see triggers for what they are -- pesky lessons, that didn't come how we wanted them to.
I’ve discussed the logistics of Human Design, now I want to talk about what it has done for the quality of my life, and what it can do for you too.
Shown me proof of 'unexplainable' things I already knew about myself.
You know you have feelings of, “I’m different” but you can’t quite explain how? One of the first things I learn about my design is I am not emotionally defined. What this means, is, I do not consistently output emotional energy. When you don’t constantly output energy, you are open to receiving the vibrations from others in those areas. Here’s an example of this.
I would be alone, driving or walking to school, work, home whatever. As soon as I walk in the door *for no reason at all* I would instantly be in a bad mood. Before I even saw someone. Before I had externally received any information. I just felt miserable. This is picking up on the energy of other people, and I always knew I could do that. Still, it’s nice to have it validated.
(If you are emotionally defined, it doesn’t mean you can’t be empathetic in other ways, such as observing body language or understanding a difficult situation. It just means you won’t be literally feeling the vibrations of others in that area because you are always emitting your own. Likewise this doesn’t mean non-emotionally defined people can never have their own emotions. It just means they aren’t always there, and they aren’t going to happen if something doesn’t provoke them.)
Allowed me to understand my unseen strengths.
As a youth, I was so gutted about the fact that I could never have one passion. Would I ever find my true purpose? As soon as I dived right into something, months later I would feel empty in regards to it. Why could I never find my thing? Well, turns out I came here to be multi-passionate and to juggle many things at once. I’d been so busy beating myself up for starting things I never finished that I had overlooked the fact that not a lot of people have the attention-span or creative energy to work on 6 projects at once.
Added depth to my interpretation of spirituality.
Now, this one sounds a little bit like an attack but it’s not intended that way. I have always been spiritual, however, I like logic. A lot. I studied science at University. I always loved having proof.
Something I never understood in the spiritual community, is how we can be expected to ‘trust blindly’ in things. Why? Why why why?
I want to know why. I want to see the reason, even if mainstream science can’t prove it, I just want to know how you got there.
Something I love about Design is there is always a reason. There is never being told to just ‘believe’. Sometimes the reasonings are so far over my head I can’t figure it out, but I can clearly and logically see how people used scientific and esoteric wisdom to get there. There is a methodical system and explanation for everything, even if it’s wacky asf.
It SHOWED me proof of my skills and gifts and where to find them.
I had heard things like: “your skills are unique” for a while, and while I believed it at a surface level, Design is living, breathing proof.
I have a 1st line profile, which means that research and data is easy for me. I have a capacity to research a lot of knowledge and it’s so easy for me. I always wondered why people ask others questions when they could just quickly research it themselves — turns out not everyone has that natural gift. The fantastic thing about Design is, each gate/profile/type has a gift. There are no bad lines. There are no curses. No matter what profile or type you are, you will have things that you are FANTASTIC at that doesn’t seem so easy to others.
The problem with figuring out your gifts is that the things that are easy for you are often overlooked. Design, along with an analyst, has the capacity to point them out to you.
It gave me a radical acceptance for myself and for others.
Disclaimer: This is achievable no matter what, and it's not just Design I have to thank. However, it's absolute truth that the system has allowed me to feel authentically seen. It gave me that beautiful ahhhahhhhh moment, like I'd finally been acknowledged and understood.
On the flip side, it has allowed me to see my 'faults' as non-personal chemistry. Something that I am responsible for, but don't need to beat up my brain for. Now when I look up the charts of those I know, I am able to see how they consciously and unconsciously operate, and again, it’s not personal. Not at this level. It’s literally just biochemistry. We all add our own personal flair and flavour to things, but some things we attach way too much significance and meaning to certain traits or desires. This has allowed the non-homogenisation of those things.
If you've been thinking about getting a reading or learning about Human Design, I highly recommend it. Especially if you are someone who wants to understand yourself better and why you operate the way you do. Your chart is uniquely customised to you. I can help you interpret your chart, map out your gifts and figure out the highest expression of all of them. Happy reading!
What is Human Design?
Human Design is a mechanical and scientific system combining principles of esoteric and scientific modalities. These are: Astrology, the Chinese I’ching, Judaic Kabbalah, The Hindu-Brahman Chakra system, quantum physics, biochemistry and epigenetics. It was channeled in 1987 by Ra Uru Hu. When you enter your birth data, a chart will appear. The first thing you will notice are 9 shapes that will be white or coloured. These map your aura for us to see. Here, we can see where you constantly emit energy and where you are open to receiving the transmissions from others. A great example of this is the emotional centre, where half the population is constantly emitting emotional energy, and half the population sometimes transmits it, but usually is picking up on the signals of others.
How do you get all that from a birth time?
Human Design uses neutrino-tracking software, to trace information back to the time of your birth aswell as roughly 3 months prior to your birth, the sum of 88 degrees. And then ta-da, we receive the blueprint of your body, energy type and even life’s work. Pretty sweet, huh?
Wait, a neutri-what-now?
Neutrinos are sub-atomic particles, similar to electrons that move near light-speed (really fast).
They come from astrophysical events (basically, they are stardust) mainly the sun and our stars. They are important because they carry information from one location to another easily, and because their mass is so small (possibly even zero) they can easily pass through dense matter. This means they transport information from space, to us.
Neutrinos imprint upon us instantly with the information of the last body of matter they have been in contact precisely because they travel at almost the speed of light. Neutrinos carry information from one location to another close to the speed of light while being so minuscule that they can pass through solid matter.
Neutrinos are evasive in nature and therefore hard to study, much research has only recently emerged.
I don't get along with other generators/projectors etc...
Your aura type tells us how your body makes decisions and gives you information. You personality is much deeper into the chart than just your type. Your type does not reflect your personality much at all, so don't stress.
Does Human Design follow a religion?
Any and all religions are welcome and being non-religious is cool too.
Hmm… Sounds interesting… How do I get my chart?
You need your birth date, time and location. That’s it! I recommend myhumandesign.com for a fun, digestible experience or geneticmatrix.com for a more information-based approach.
What if I don’t know my birth time, can I guess?
Precision is important, but don't stress. Since you probably know your birthdate, the best thing to do is speak to an analyst with the information you have. There are several ways we can get the most likely birth time. Sometimes not much changes, sometimes a lot changes within minutes. Some options are: Asking your family, ringing a birth registry (this may incur a fee, or it may not be feasible but it’s worth a try!), using a pendulum, or even creating several charts.
I have my chart, now what?
The best thing you can do is learn: your aura type (there are 4), your strategy, and your authority (there are 7). You will be able to find lots of information on these 3 things + I guarantee they'll open up a wormhole of possibilities!
I don't resonate with my chart.
This is a rare occurrence, although it does happen. First of all, be sure your birth data has been entered correctly. This is the first culprit. Another one comes down to a misunderstanding. A common thing I see, for example, is people disagreeing with an arrow saying they are a 'specific manifestor' but they disagree and throwing the chart away. I understand your response, and I encourage you to recognise that Human Design has many more layers than what someone said on a podcast. that one time While they may be offering a great insight, it's not worthwhile clinging onto each and every word. Remember, Human Design is based off (at least) 6 incredibly in-depth principles and there is a lot of misinformation, misinterpretation and misconception around a lot of the things. If you speak to a reader, 9/10 I guarantee something will click and make sense. If it doesn't, that's ok. You can take the parts of Human Design that stick with you and leave the ones that don't. It's only purpose is for you to utilise your power.
We have records of Astrology that date back to at least 25,000 years, yet the knowledge of it in western society is pretty limited. Most horoscopes are over-generalised and only focus on star signs, but actually we’re affected by a myriad of celestial bodies and forces. The aim of this blog post is to weed out a bit of the confusion stereotyping has caused, and give you an insight on how deep astrology really gets!
Let’s take a look, beginning with horoscopes.
